    Born in 1950 on a 40 acre farm near South Whitley, Indiana, as Jane Marie Fricke she made her breakthrough after singing for years on commercials and as a backing singer to the stars.

    Probably one of the most liked and respected talents in Nashville, she like lots of country artist grew up singing in her local church.

    For what seemed like an eternity, blue-eyed country soul singer Julie Roberts sat just a few feet away from the man who could make all of her dreams come true. But she never uttered a word to him about it.

    Julie moved to Nashville after graduating from Belmont University.  Taking a job at Mercury Records she was able to support herself while pursuing her goal of becoming a country singer. She spent all her spare time perfecting her songwriting skills and performing at various venues around Nashville.
