Track 1 Leaving ain’t as easy as it sounds, a Bobby Tomberlin/Bill Anderson song

Track 2 a girl like you a Ron Harbin/Anthony Smith/Aaron Baker track that really suits Pete’s Vocal style,

Track 3 Short For Gone His love has left him a clever way of telling an old story.

Track 4 something strong, this track grew on me a real country track love songs with a beat can’t fail, dancers could try Easy Come Easy Go to it.

Track 5 That’s the way I love her. Reminds me of that easy going style that Neal McCoy puts into some of his tracks makes you want to grab the girl you love and sway together on the dance floor, really like this one. Pete really puts his all into this track.

Track 6 gotta get to her before my reputation. a good catchy dance track in a tush push mode.

Track 7 Swingin Doors written by Merle Haggard as good a cover as I’ve ever heard of this song a really personal interpretation that highlights both the quality of Pete and his band tru south

Track 8 Lonesome Ornry and mean. Pete’s cover of a Waylon Jennings hit once again the man show’s he has his way of doing things he’s paying tribute to these old standards without insulting them by boringly copying the original.

Track 9 Whole lotta liquor to like her written by Paul Overstreet and Tom Hemby
a fun tongue in cheek song about needing to be drunk to like the love of your life, I think I’ll drink to that. If you want to dance you could try yessireebob.

Most of you won’t have heard of Pete Schlegel yet, he hails from Ohio a former State Trooper who gave it all up to follow his dream. He hasn’t failed Ohio’s law enforcements loss is Country Music’s gain this guy and his band Tru South have it and they have it in abundance, we’re going to hear a lot more from this outfit. My advice treat yourself and buy the album you can then say you were there when it started.

Pete Schlegel Raised in Paulding, on a Ohio dairy farm, Pete listened to country radio shows while milking the cows. As a fourth grader, he received a guitar from his dad. That simple gift a long time ago would become Schlegel’s passion and livelihood.

Prompting from his family and friends encouraged Pete to start a band. Tru South. Soon he would have to choose between life as an Ohio State Trooper and EMS helicopter pilot, and his childhood dream. It didn’t take Pete long to decide. In March 2002, Pete headed to Nashville, where he began working with producer Clyde Brooks.

Pete could barely keep up with the influx of website hits and demand for his first CD. Since that time, enthusiasts have sprung up over seas. In Germany, Pete's single dominated the international chart for over seven weeks at listeners requests. That #1 chart position currently hangs in Schlegels house, as the song’s position on the international chart stands above country superstar staples like Tanya Tucker, Travis Tritt, and Kenny Chesney. The wall plaque serves less as a commemorative piece of success and more as a sign of things to come. “We’re just getting started. It's gonna be good”.

Pete's music isn't easily pigeon holed, but a guitar-driven, up-tempo, honky-tonk sound describes it best. With inspirations like, Ernest Tubb, George Jones, and Brooks and Dunn, Schlegel’s sound is timeless. Schlegel’s vocals are delivered just the way they’re written: genuinely. No pretension or glossy over production, just the range of human emotions and experience of one man.

Pete and his band are currently taking the grime and sweat road to fame. We're sure he's going to make it we also sure he won't forget his roots.
