    These dances were mainly written in a time when tags and restarts were unheard of the dances were generally simpler with less twist and turns but more classic line dance steps, this is perhaps one reason why they have lasted the test of time, another factor is they are nearly all written to good country music and at the time most of these dances were taught you would be taught only one or two dances a week and you would dance them several times a night ensuring that they stuck in your memory.
